In spite of COVID-19, I hope you and your loved ones have been able to enjoy the late summer activities as we move quickly into the fall season. It has definitely made me realize that patience, flexibility and understanding are the most important tools we have to work our way through this challenging time. The hallways here at WPMS have been silent for too long. Our whole staff can’t wait to welcome the students back and yes, everyone already know how much we have missed them. Middle school aged kids are the best, and I’m blessed to be the principal of Walnut Park STEM; the BEST of the BEST middle school students anywhere! As we go into our winter break, I want to remind you that your brain is a muscle; we need to keep working it even when school is out. Please continue to use activities like IXL, Edgenuity and Khan Academy to keep your “reps” up; don’t lose your gains and possible keep growing academically. We are so proud be on this journey with you all; we will have lots of new and exciting opportunities for enrichment and fun in the spring semester. As always, I am open to your concerns and suggestions; as many of you have shared with me via DM in Schoology or email at [email protected] . Have a wonderful winter and please stay safe.
